A Walk In The Woods

On Sunday, we took a walk in the woods. My health hasn’t been the best lately, so we haven’t been out here much since we bought it. We learned three important things: First, we have a lot more streams and swampy areas than we realized. Second, we have a lot more stone (especially white stone) than we had thought. Third, my wife likes to use me as a human shield against thickets.

The streams are not year-round and frankly it’s a lot of not usable area, so we’re hoping to redirect them all to a single, larger stream and dig a pond at the end where a swamp currently resides.

We found this tiny waterfall

The stone was exciting because I was hoping to get stone quarry for some projects. We can use them to build. We can use them to decorate gardens. And some are even big enough to hoist on a catapult and lob at our neighbors. The possibilities are endless!

A strange red stone we found.

We also took some video with our drone. Unfortunately, it was too windy to be that high in the air and I’m out of practice. Out of 10 minutes, about 2 of them don’t cause motion sickness just to watch. I edited all of that out just in case the FAA finds this and issues me a DUI.
